What to Expect / First Visit

New Practice Member Health Application

We ask new practice members to complete the health application as thoroughly as possible. Information about current concerns, health history, previous injuries, and past trauma helps our team better understand factors that may be relevant to your care.

Office Tour

After your paperwork is complete, a team member will introduce you to the office and explain how the visit is organized. Our goal is to help you feel comfortable in the space and better understand Momentum Chiropractic’s approach to care.

One-on-One Consultation

You will meet with a chiropractor to discuss your health concerns, goals, relevant health history, and previous injuries or trauma. This conversation helps the team understand what you want to improve and which areas may require further evaluation.

Specific Chiropractic Assessment

Your chiropractor may perform a muscle, movement, and nervous-system assessment using the office’s available evaluation technology. These findings are considered alongside your history and physical examination to help identify areas that may require attention.

X-Rays, When Clinically Appropriate

Postural X-rays may be recommended when the chiropractor determines that imaging is clinically appropriate. The images can provide additional information about skeletal structure and help inform safe, individualized recommendations. X-rays are not necessary for every patient.

Individualized Care Recommendations

After Dr. Alexandra Oliveras or Dr. Patrick Houser reviews your consultation, examination findings, and any clinically appropriate imaging, the chiropractor will develop recommendations based on your individual needs and goals.

Report of Findings

At a follow-up visit, the chiropractor will review the findings with you, explain any imaging that was taken, discuss the recommended care approach, and answer your questions. With your permission, you are welcome to bring a loved one for support.

The team will also discuss anticipated costs and available payment options before you agree to begin care.

Moving Forward With Your Care

Progress requires collaboration between you and your care team. Following the agreed-upon recommendations and attending planned reassessments allows your chiropractor to monitor how you are responding and determine whether the approach should continue, change, or conclude.

Every person responds differently. Some people notice changes sooner than others, and temporary soreness or stiffness can sometimes occur after care. Tell your chiropractor about new, worsening, or persistent symptoms so your plan can be reassessed appropriately.
